On Sunday January 29, 2017, 55 Boy Scouts received their Ad Altare Dei Religious Award at Holy Name Cathedral. Two of the boys were from Troop 96, Kevin G and Mario D. Kevin and Mario, along with 6 other Boy Scouts from the Grayslake area, spent 10 months preparing and following the Ad Altare Dei program developed by the National Catholic Committee on Scouting for Boy Scouts of the Catholic faith. Its purpose is to foster the total personal and spiritual growth of each young person by encouraging him to actively live out his Catholic Christian faith through study and through service. A new Ad Altare Dei class will be starting this spring.
