This month, the troop returns to beautiful Rock Cut State Park near Rockford. The youth campground sits right on the lake making it a perfect spot for an “Anything That Floats” weekend.
Grab your permission slip and bring it to the Aug 21 meeting with $15 cash for food.
Tonight (Aug 15), Eric Ostick met with the North Star District Eagle Board of Review. As a result of the thorough review of his credentials and a comprehensive interview, the Board made a unanimous determination and approved Eric’s application for Eagle Scout. You can see from the photo that Eric is proud of his accomplishment. The troop is also proud of Eric!
Watch for the details regarding Eric’s Court of Honor. We’ll celebrate him and help inspire his fellow Scouts to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout.
We have confirmation that tonight’s meeting will be held in the Multipurpose room at St Gilbert. Enter the church parking lot (west side) closest to Slusser Street and head towards the back of the building. There is a set of glass doors to enter in. The Multi-Purpose Room is just past the Parish Center, (where the Spaghetti Dinner was held). See you tonight!
The news is in! Fritz Klett was reviewed tonight (09 Aug) by the North Star District Advancement Committee. After a thorough check of his credentials and detailed interviews, the Board unanimously approved his rank of Eagle Scout.
Fritz joins a long line of Eagles in his family and becomes the 78th Eagle Scout in Troop 96. Congratulations, Fritz! We look forward to your Court of Honor.
St. Gilbert Church will be holding an old-fashioned picnic on the Church grounds on August 26. Scouts are requested to help out with setup, keeping the bonfire going (with adult help) and take-down. The picnic runs from about 6 pm to about 9:30.
