Our March campout will be held next weekend, from Friday evening, March 18 to mid-day Sunday on March 20. We’ll gather in the parking lot on Friday evening at 5:15 pm. We’re heading to Camp Ohdakota near Burlington, Wisconsin.
Food for the campout costs $15 and is collected within the patrols, in cash, this Monday along with the permission slip (no exceptions). Scouts buy the food for their patrol so cash is needed for their purchases. Complete a permission slip (found on the troop website) and have your son turn it in to his Patrol Leader next Monday before the campout. (Parents are always encouraged to camp with us. Let us know on Monday and bring $15 for food to the meeting. We can loan you a tent and sometimes other gear as well!)
Scouts should pack for the outing using the checklist on the troop website or the one in their Scout Handbook. It’s important for them to pack their own gear (even if you’re there to assist). We know that if they do their own packing, they will remember what they have in their bag. No special backpack is needed…a duffel bag or sports bag works great. We suggest that Scouts “think like water” to consider how to protect their gear from getting wet. Extra plastic bags are helpful.
