Here are the permission slip(s) you’ll need for your son to go to Camp Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan this summer.
The troop provides transportation to and from camp for a very nominal fee (much less than the bus service offered by the Council). We encourage you to have your son ride with his fellow Scouts and to avoid “special arrangements.” You might image that it is very complex to get 40+ Scouts and 10-12 leaders to camp – even without special arrangements.
Week One Permission Slip (July 9 to July 15)
Week Two Permission Slip (July 16 to July 22)
This month, we’re heading to the far Northwest (the far northwest of Lake County!). We’ll be going to beautiful Chain O’ Lakes State Park. We’ll be tent camping in the youth campgrounds. On Saturday, Scouts will have the choice of fishing, hiking or both.
April is a great month to go camping. Get your entire patrol together and head out for a fun weekend at a great state park.
Grab the PERMISSION SLIP and bring $15 cash to the Monday, April 17 troop meeting.

The North Star District Advancement Committee met on March 14 for another Eagle Scout Board of Review for one of our troop’s young men. David H presented his Eagle credentials for their review. First, they ensured that his advancement records were complete. They also assessed his Eagle Scout Leadership Project. Finally, they interviewed his Scoutmaster and they had an in-depth conversation with David.
After all of this review and conversation, the Board of Review reached their unanimous decision: David is our newest Eagle Scout! It will be great to see you wearing your Eagle Scout rank on your uniform while staffing at Ma-Ka-Ja-Wan this summer.
Well done, David! Your Court of Honor will be a special celebration!

The North Star District Advancement Committee conducted an Eagle Scout Board of Review for Ryan Robb on March 7. The Board completed a thorough review of his credentials and his Eagle Scout Project, and they also did a detailed interview of Ryan. It was their unanimous decision that Ryan has met all the requirements to be an Eagle Scout.
Well done, Ryan! We look forward to celebrating with you at your Eagle Scout Court of Honor.
Ryan is the troop’s 76th Eagle Scout since 1998.
