On Saturday evening (Oct 17) at Camp Crown while we were finishing our evening meal, the patrols were challenged to see if they could complete their KP (dishwashing) and site cleanup in 20 minutes. If so, their patrol photo would be posted on the website. Well, they were successful (and the dishes were clean!). Well done! You worked like high performing teams! Hello Troop 96…
I’ll be having my final session of my Eagle Scout project on Saturday October 24th from 1 to 5 pm at St. Paul the Apostle Church on 6401 Gages Lake Road, Gurnee. We will be planting bulbs and placing the benches. Please bring a garden trowel and gardening gloves. Please sign up at one of the upcoming troop meetings or contact me directly at: AndrewGoger@yahoo.com. Also my rain date for the session is the next day Sunday, October 25th.
On Sunday, Oct 11, a group of Scouts and adults took on the unusual tasks of destroying a playground! As part of a complete renovation of the play area at a local family crisis center, the Chicago Bears are installing a new playground for the children. Troop 96 Scouts were called on to remove the old playground equipment in order for the new installation. Check out the photos by clicking on Read More (below). UPDATE: Click here to read the story from the Lake County News Sun that includes a reference to Troop 96.
On Oct 8, the troop continued the long-tradition of helping at PADS. We set up the room, placed the pads into position and made the beds. Click Read More (below) to see group who participated. If you missed this session, don’t worry. We’re back at the United Protestant Church on Nov 12th.
