Our new, newest Eagle Scout and the troop’s second in October was approved on Oct 23. The North Star District Eagle Scout Board of Review was convened to review Ethan De Keyser and to assess his documentation and credentials. After a thorough evaluation, Ethan was approved by the Board as an Eagle Scout. Ethan’s service project primarily involved the building of a patio and garden bench that remembers key figures and contributors to the Grayslake Historical Society. Please leave a comment for Ethan and congratulate him on his accomplishment (log in and click on the headline to leave a comment).
Troop 96 wants to raise $500 before Thanksgiving to help out those who have had their entire family businesses destroyed by the storm.
Did you or your family go on the big trip and enjoy all the wonderful things that the region had to offer? If so, the ask is simple – if the families that went each donated $10 for each person in their party – we would be just about there. OK, so you were not able to go on the trip (you had other priorities like Jambo, Camp or other things going on in the summer)… could you please do a good turn for these ranchers and make a donation? We will have a collection box at the troop meetings until the week of Thanksgiving. The troop will consolidate our donations and write a check to one or more Local Charities. We are also exploring the possibility of a troop match. Thank you for your help.
Registration for the council Merit Badge weekend will open on Monday, October 14th at 11:00 AM. Merit Badge Day will be Saturday November 9th.
We just announced only twelve days ago that Ben H was our troop’s newest Eagle Scout. But already the title of newest is passed on to Nathan T. (Of course, Ben H is still an Eagle, but he’s just not our newest.) Nathan was reviewed by the North Star District Eagle Scout Board of Review on Oct 1. After a thorough review of Nathan and his credentials, he was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout. Well done! The entire troop is proud of you.
