Please help the desperate people of Haiti... I appealed to you at the Court of Honor to use your brains and your muscles to build the one dollar you were given into even more money. Bring your donation to the troop meeting and we'll double it again. Click for a copy of the One Dollar for Haiti form. Remember, ANY amount will help. Checks can be made to the American Red Cross, UNICEF or Troop 96. If made to the troop, we'll turn them around to one of these charities for the same amount. Roger Schrimp, chairman of the BSA’s International Committee, adds, “At the end of the day, it does not matter how big or small an individual’s contribution is. We all give what we can afford. That’s what we do in Scouting. These are our friends, our fellow Scouts. They need our help. ‘On my honor, I will do my best!’ is a pledge that each of us has taken as a Scout.” |

Wood Badge - Premier Adult Leadership Training |
|

The Northeast Illinois Council will offer Wood Badge Training on the weekends of
-
August 19, 20 & 21 (Thursday, Friday, Saturday) -
October 07, 08 & 09 (Thursday, Friday, Saturday)
What Is Wood Badge? Wood Badge is the BSA’s premier adult leadership training program. Based on Scouting’s values as expressed in the Scout Oath and Law, it teaches contemporary leadership and team development skills in an outdoor setting.
What, Exactly, Is Taught At Wood Badge? Wood Badge has always fostered leadership development. 21st Century Wood Badge focuses on contemporary leadership skills and issues and integrates Scouting’s value-based philosophy. A variety of learning opportunities, including lecture, demonstration, group discussion and hands-on exercises train participants in the basics of listening, communicating, valuing people, team development, situational leadership, problem solving, and managing conflict. While contemporary management concepts are key components of the course, Wood Badge enables their practical application, too. Participants find they are able to apply what they’ve learned immediately in their primary Scouting position. Many participants have found what they’ve learned to be equally valuable in their personal and professional lives, too. And while learning is the focus of Wood Badge, fun is an important component! If you would like more information, join us for breakfast on February 27. Click here for the Wood Badge Breakfast Invitation. |
